Burning Love

Someone once told me that the heat of the sun is like a mother’s love. So huge, so nurturing, so often unnoticed and taken for granted. Always there, even when you can’t see it.

Lying on the ground this afternoon, I absorbed this heat. And the Earth, too, receiving it and gifting it back to me – radiating its warm, soothing energy.

I have been held and supported. Warmed and soothed.

And, like any mother, I know what it is like to feel exhausted and burnt out, but to still keep on giving. And so I want the Earth to know how grateful I am.
